Agra
Agra, located on the western bank of Yamuna River, is one of the most
frequented cities by tourists in India. Agra was founded by Badal Shah in
1475, but it came into prominence when the Lodhis made it their capital.

Founded in 1727 by the great Kachhawaha ruler Sawai Jai Singh, Jaipur is one
of those cities that tourists must visit during their trip to India. Better
known as the 'Pink City', Jaipur is the capital of the western state of

Bikaner
Lying in the northern part of Rajasthan, Bikaner was named after its

Founded by Maharaja Udai Singh of the Sisodia dynasty in 1559, Udaipur is
situated at the banks of Lake Pichola and surrounded by mountains, lakes and

Trivandrum, now known as Thiruvanantpuram is the capital of the southern
state of India, Kerala. The city has been named after Anantha, the thousand
- headed serpent on which Lord Vishnu rested.

Khajuraho is situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh, and is known as the
'temple town' because of its world famous temples built by the Chandela
rulers. The erstwhile capital city of the Chandela rulers, Khajuraho draws
its name from Khajur or the date palm trees that once surrounded this
region.
